Finding My Perfect Wedding Dress

Happy Thursday Everyone!

First off, I think wedding planing has officially taken a toll on me…I just realized how exhausted & tired I looked in these pictures! It’s a little over 2 months before the wedding, and I think it’s time to lay off on the caffeine & get some good solid rest and have my bridal routine!!

When I was little I wanted a strapless mermaid dress… I told you I wanted a white wedding… when I got engaged, something changed. I didn’t want any cup-cakey dress or anything that reminded me of a quinceañera dress. Early in the process, we knew we wanted to get married on the beach n then again it changed to a traditional Jaipur palace…so I knew I wanted (1) a heavy dress, (2) some type of zari work with beautiful embroidery  and (3) I realized I was more drawn to embellished dresses than lace lighter ones.( 4 ) I have to decide on three dresses one for wedding other for engagement and the third for mehendi .

In this episode I FINALLY start searching for my wedding dress!!!! No matter if you love fashion or not…the wedding dress is one of those things we start dreaming about when we are about 5…we sat down for my wedding dress consultation, but now comes the fun part- Trying on THE dresses!!!!My bridesmaid My Mom and Aunt & I went to go visit all the famous  bridal boutiques in Jaipur. I have made the list of them earlier now was the time to go on for the search of my dream dresses. The first on list two boutiques were Zari and Pratap Sons a well known for their collection of classic yet cutting edge lehengas and gowns that they customize individually for their clients…making a lehenga truly one of a kind! Have shortlisted few among the collection and also the designer pieces afterall wedding is the best time to experience all our wishes coming true. Sigh !! They all were soo beautiful…super gorgeous pieces. Yes I tried my hands on Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra .So girls it was my time to grab over all the gorgeousness being a bride and enjoy .From my earlier posts you must have known the theme of my wedding as royal means I was going the traditional yet modern way . So all my chosen pieces were vibrantly full of colors . Stay tuned for and see all the pictures where I actually try on these GORGEOUS dresses!!!!

The only thing which made me unhappy was all these boutiques have their own design collection and collaborations  and hence they don’t allow to take a picture and have a portrait of dresses. Somehow  my Bestman (my lil bro) managed to spy click on some. And believe me these pictures don’t do justice to the lehengas..they all were super stunners.

My next destination was Ranas  and whooaa I felt the fresh vibes as soon I entered their boutique. The famous one having a legacy of traditional collection. They are the oldest one in Jaipur. All of  Ranas Legacy lehengas are handmade in the boutique using the highest quality of silk fabrics, laces and beadings and zardosi work. I have decided to divide the wedding dress episode into 3 parts because theres so much that goes into finding your dream dress! Heres a little peek in some of the dresses that I tried on….. 🙂

This one is the Sabyasachi which I loved the most ..I wore the same in Red color ..If you see closely in the above pictures I am wearing the same lehenga red choli for all the trial of lehengas.

Picture Credits from A wedding Site ( Just wanted to show the design of the Lehenga)

Which dress/silhouette did you like the best???

Sigh, so gorgeous. I’ll be wearing each of these in my dreams. I guess I was pretty much obsessed by  fuschia or is it that it was in for the wedding collection.
I can’t wait to see what the final dress looks like! Up next I’m sharing wedding dress shopping tips and they are all pretty useful. Stay tuned 🙂
